In 1981, VLW president Sally Nan Barber led an initiative to redefine the organization’s goals, which included broadening VLW’s service to Charlottesville women’s groups. Agenda items included sponsoring the VLW annual conference on women and the law and providing teachers with a continuing education course on women’s legal rights in Virginia.
